Beat the Toothache: Root Canals
Teeth can become badly damaged on the inside. The pulp of the tooth, or the soft inside of the tooth which contains the nerves and blood vessels, can be affected by physical damage or deep decay.
When the pulp is destroyed, the tooth is at risk for numerous problems. A root canal can protect your tooth and restore its normal function.
Why Get a Root Canal?
Here are a few of the reasons why a root canal can be beneficial to you:
Tooth Insurance | A tooth that has a damaged pulp will likely eventually fall out if no action is taken. When you have a root canal done, you protect and preserve the tooth.
A Beautiful Smile | After tooth loss, it becomes more difficult to be proud of your smile. Not only does the gap itself appear unsightly, but it can also lead to the shifting of the rest of the teeth, making the smile crooked and uneven. A root canal can help you maintain your beautiful straight smile.
Total Comfort | A damaged pulp almost always causes severe toothaches! You shouldn’t have to be distracted with constant pain. A root canal will relieve any of the pain that a damaged pulp can cause.
The Root Canal Process
Don’t worry—Dr. Suarez and his team will make sure you are feeling completely comfortable before and during your root canal. They will use a numbing anesthetic to keep your pain and anxiety low.
Dr. Suarez will create a small opening in the crown of the tooth. He will remove the pulp through this opening. He will clean out the root canals and fill the area with a rubber-like material. Finally, he will seal off the tooth with a tooth-colored filling.
Here at Signature Smiles, we make the root canal process as easy as filling a basic cavity. We want you to feel relaxed and at ease while you achieve a healthier smile. Call us today to schedule an appointment to come talk with Dr. Suarez.
